  I really really hate this religion

  getting back here, getting on to some fb groups and reading stories, meeting new people it's mind blowing the callous crap that these men are allowed to get away with.

  i mean i get that religion in general can be considered bad all around, but i have friends who are religious and no, none of them have seen this type of callous disregard for humanity come from religion.

  not on this level.

  it's heartbreaking. I'm lucky. I had two of my kids before I left, a non-JW husband w non-JW family. I struggled, sure. But i had support.
  
  So many of these people flat out don't have support.
  
  This is just wrong on so many levels.
  
  To those of you who are struggling to get through, questioning and scared....
  You're not alone. You are so not alone.
  
  Reach out and look for a local group. For those who simply can't.... I'm so glad that this place exists.

  Is it Time to Declare that The Great Tribulation Has Started ?

  i don't really engage in doctrinal discussions about jw's anymore.

  they seem to say some pretty crazy stuff.

  but i have read some threads discussing doctrinal changes and how watchtower is really out of ideas and money at the same time.

  Flipper, exactly, this is some weird stuff.
  And they don't give two squats about their members.
  The creepy thing is that they have far more money than these other half wit cults.
  But as it comes out that they are just that - a cult - what will they do? What are they preparing to do?
  
  
  I wish you so much peace with your family. As a mom I don't know that I can comprehend the pain of my kids being stuck in this organization. It's hard enough with my mom and sibs, but my kids? That would be the ultimate devastation.

  Are we sure that there aren't more 'compound'-ish structures?

  so mr bsom and i got to talking and we got to wondering if there aren't other compound like buildings being structured, or if assembly halls have been built with greater living quarters?

  the entirety of this situation is really beginning to shape up like the davidians or jim jones.

  Oh man, I wholeheartedly agree with that. Big yes re the manipulation. They are evil. Pure evil.
  There are people in that cult who are battling serious anxiety and this s**t doesn't help.
  They're narcissists to the bone.
  And perhaps that partly why I tend to see them as believing this crap. Narcs really do tend to have delusions of grandeur. They seriously have this inflated sense of esteem. "I AM GOD!"

  think of it like this... (eta I'm not wanting to offend anyone with the following, it's just a matter of following how people reason things out)
  Isn't it bizarre for people to really think that a deity incarnated himself as a human into the womb of a woman was born lived for 30 something years then had himself crucified on a piece of wood only so that he could forgive mankind for being exactly what he created them to be? and for said people to truly believe that they are the only ones who could ever possibly be forgiven if they worship said deity?
  
  But people do. They believe it. And they also believe in any number of other things.
  
  What makes it such a stretch for the GB to believe their own delusions?

  Watched The Bunker Videos Again On JWSurvey

  i watched the bunker videos again and noticed something strange.

  even though none of the characters had actually been disloyal to the org when commended for their loyalty they all say "it wasn't always that way".

  it was always that way, none of them had actually sinned!

  See I noticed that the actors, namely Kevin, seemed like they were doing an SNL skit.
  Kevin's whispery voice was very Dana Carvey and while I'm reasonably sure this is not a joke, I'm still waiting for someone to call it 'gotcha suckers' because the acting was so lousy. Which I'm not sure what that says for SNL.

  Sparrowdown: Ya know, I don't know that the bunkers in any of the situations are really meant to protect anyone. More like don't let anyone out the doors. With the psychopath narc type cult leaders it's not about affection, protection etc. It's ego and well delusions of grandeur.
  

  Millie: yeah, the basement thing. Funny a friend of mine just mentioned that. Truly I have vague memories of that. It'd be interesting to see what they had written about it.
  
  
  EdenOne: Ya know I forgot about those places. And it is a reminder as Doubtfully Yours and others have pointed out essentially same ol song and dance.
  My thing about what's going on is that the combination of the new light, the videos, and this new talk about the message changing, seems like they're ready for something.
  
  I don't trust that they wouldn't do something along the lines of the kool aid. Figure that their policies have already shown such a disregard for their followers and their safety and sanity what would stop them really? Probably just wanting to have people in one place at one time. Which is why the videos probably piqued my attn.

  DY argh, right when I hit send on a response much earlier my computer decided to shut down, I thought my response went through so didn't think to check til now.
  
  Ok, when I first read your response it came across like you were almost agreeing in a moral sense w the dingbat religion. I'm sorry for jumping to the wrong conclusion.
  
  But I'd also just seen someone essentially say that Terrell just didn't want to be moral or something along those lines, so I'm guessing that's where it initiated.
  
  Yes, creating reliable networks is important, I think it's getting easier to do that. After I watched the video I did a search to see what was local on fb and nothing popped up, so I threw a group together and was able to reach Terrell and some others around here. The conversations thus far have been good. I had to wonder if maybe there would be value in putting out perhaps flyers? How does one get the word out?
  
  Then I thought of picketing... but not sure if I'd be ready to do that to my family and friends. Not now.

  yeah I guess I can see that....
  It seems like w the ... wonky videos and such that they're amping it up.
  Like really, videos of people holing themselves up in a basement?
  It's like a few steps forward and a few steps back. The stuff they've come up with is almost like they're ready to go full throttle.
  Not quite yet, but soon. :/
  
  However - yes, I forget as someone brought on a different thread, way, way, way back uhm before I was born, there were the compounds that was it Rutherford built? The home for the princes or something like that?
  
  Still... something very odd here. And after looking at the various cults that have gone down horribly wrong, this is concerning. Figure... I think a lot of us have thought they aren't that insane they would do something like Jonestown. However, their policies have shown an amazing coldness for human life and dignity. So while at one time I can honestly say I wouldn't have thought of them as being capable of doing something so much more twisted, the manner in which they're manipulating people right now is beginning to scare me more than it would have before.

  Hm, I can see that. That makes sense. African countries can be really unstable.
  I know a couple that went there as missionaries. :/ Don't know if they're still there.

  I'm realizing that w exjws there's probably two schools of thought....
  a) People who think that the GB are in it for the $$
  b) People who think that the GB are delusional whackadoodles who think they're the bees knees.
